Bustle Ballgown c 1880's

A two piece gown made of red satin and contrasting figured satin to be worn over a bustle. The square necked bodice is trimmed with black lace and jet beading with additional lace and self fabric pleated epaulettes on the sleeves. The skirt is trimmed with satin ribbon, lace and pleats at the hem. The sides of the skirt are trimmed with drops of fabric that are also trimmed with ribbon. The contrasting bustle finishes into a train trimmed with lace, ribbon, and pleating.
