Program Outline

  • Discussion on the different styles of Victorian fashions, from 1860 to 1900
  • Examples of fabric and lining materials available for reproduction clothing
  • The making of the garment:
    • Different construction techniques, ranging from the authentic to the very simple
    • Comparing an original garment with a reproduction
    • Examples of a garment in various stages of construction
  • A mannequin and slide presentation, possibly in conjunction with a mini-fashion show
  • Question and answer period
